The activity of the Department of Basins is being conducted in accordance with the Waters Act regarding ownership right upon waters, water sites, water-economic systems and installations; usage and management of waters and water sites; Permission regime connected with the issuing of licenses for water usage or usage, Control on waters and on meeting the requirements of the issued licenses in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act; protection and usage of the components of the environment; Realization of control on the condition of the environment and the sources of pollution; Collecting of and access to information regarding the environment. In accordance with the Convention of Orhus: public access to information regarding the environment; Public participation in the decision making regarding the environment; Access of the judiciary power to the problems of the environment.
