Information
resource title:
Potential water and erosion risk assessment and forecast model
Brief
description of content:
The assessment and forecast model is based on Universal Soil loose Equation model (USLE - Wischmeier, Smith, 1965, 1978). This equation includes the most relevant factors to soil erosion process - landform. Soil type, rainfall erosivity, soil erodibility, land cover. Landform, soil type and soil erodibility are constant values. The others values like land cover and rainfall erosivity undergo changes annually for each agroecological region. Both constant and variable values are computed and mapped with software.
The outputs are:
- Potential Soil Erosion Risk Map
- Actual Soil Erosion Risk Map
- Annual Soil Losses from Potential and Actual Water Erosion
- Distribution of rainfall erosivity classes
- Distribution of soil erodibility classes
