Aims of the declaration:
1. Protection of riparian forests of alders (Alnus spp.), willows (Salix spp.) and poplars (Populus spp.), Thermophilic mixed oak forests and old river beds, with communities of hydrophilic vegetation along the river Veselina;
2. Conservation of habitats of protected, rare and vulnerable plant and animal species, such as Galanthis elwesii, Sabanejewia balcanica, Salamandra salamandra, Triturus vulgaris, Tritutus karelinii, Bombina variegata, Hyla arborea, Emys orbicularis;
3. Conservation of habitats of protected, rare and vulnerable animal species, such as: Ardea cinerea, Ixobrichus minutus, Ciconia nigra, Buteo buteo, Accipiter nisus, Falco subbuteo, Crex crex, Gallinula chloropus, Tringa ochropus, Otus scops, Alcedo atthis, Merops apiaster, Picus canus, Acrocephalus arundinaceus, Sylvia nisoria, Emberiza hortulana, otter Lutra lutraand others.
Current prohibitions and regimes:
1. It is prohibited construction except for actions to restoration the natural character of aquatic ecosystems, building trails, gazebos and shelters for public use, not including space for permanent or temporary habitation;
2. It is prohibited changes in the natural water flow of the river, draining of wetlands and all irrigation activities, except for restoration natural water regime of the river and related water bodies;
3. It is prohibited to search for, research, and extract underground mineral resources;
4. It is prohibited extraction and confiscation of inert materials;
5. It is prohibited to dig up the pastures and grassland;
6. It is prohibited to fell trees, except for cultivation purposes and logging related to removing non-native shrub and tree species, in the conduct of logging is not marked for felling trees and old trees with hollows and nests, unless they not represent a direct threat to crossing the roads and paths and vehicles;
7. It is prohibited to clearing of vegetation around watercourses to increase the conductivity of the river, with the exception of individual trees, fallen into the river bed;
8. It is prohibited to carry out forest industry events in the period from 1st march through 1st august.
9. It is prohibited to start fires except in the designated areas;
10. It is prohibited introduction of non-native wild plant and animal species.
